As the legislature comes closer and closer to passing tax and budget legislation, it is critical that North Carolinians express their concern publicly by writing Letters to the Editor of local papers so that opposition to these plans that endanger vital public investments to fund tax cuts for millionaires. Budget and Tax Center activists, we continue to need your help. In a few weeks this fight could be all over and it’s critical we make our voices heard now. Immediate action is needed to spread the word in local newspapers that North Carolinians are not happy with the potential damage to the state’s funding for vital public investments thanks to the Senate’s new tax plan.

This plan will lose over a billion dollars in state revenue each year once fully implemented and loses over $4 billion over the next 5 years. Children, seniors and everyday working families will pay the price to fund these tax cuts for millionaires by lost funding for schools, health care for seniors and other critical investments. In your letters, make sure to ask the Billion Dollar question. What will we give up to fund tax cuts for millionaires?
