TAKE ACTION: Tell Representatives — Your Vote for the AHCA Hurts North Carolina

On Thursday, May 4, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 217-213 to pass the American Health Care Act. This bill would jeopardize protections for 1.6 million non-elderly North Carolinians with pre-existing conditions, gut the Medicaid program that serves as a lifeline to over a million North Carolina children, and take health coverage away from over one million of our state’s residents.

This is a horrific step backward in our nation’s history. While we can still stop this bad bill in the Senate, we need to let our representatives in the House understand the costs of passing such devastating legislation.

Nine of North Carolina’s 13 congressional representatives in the House voted in favor of the American Health Care Act.
