Take the pledge. Join the fight against permanent tax giveaways for millionaires.

On Aug. 18, our state lawmakers will return to discuss constitutional amendments, and that may include the income tax cap. Lawmakers have tried before to permanently cap the personal income tax rate at 5.5 percent, even though that would cost North Carolina $2 billion a year in critical funding for schools, public health, and infrastructure.

We cannot let this amendment pass. It would be disastrous not just in the short term, but for generations to come. This amendment would make tax giveaways to millionaires permanent, almost guarantee a sales tax increase, and critically underfund everything in our state that builds thriving communities. Instead of an economy that works for all, this amendment would enforce an economy that works for the elite few.

Please join us in our fight to stop efforts to lock in tax giveaways to millionaires. Make the pledge to make your voice heard.
